Johnny Suede Film Locations
The 1991 film starring Brad Pitt and Catherine Keener has recently been added to the coming soon page. Johnny Suede was the directorial debut of writer-director Tom DiCillo and also starred Samuel L. Jackson and Nick Cave. The film Johnny Suede is a dark comic fable set in the shadows of a modern American metropolis. Johnny played by a very young Brad Pitt is the central character, an aspiring though mildly talented musician, infatuated with suede and Ricky Nelson. He appears to be a loner by choice; his only friend is a young black man named Deke played by Calvin Levels. Painting apartments with Deke provided Johnny with his only source of income. Johnny falls in love with Darlette played by Alison Moir, a beautiful troubled girl who appears to be the girl of his dreams. During their intensely brief relationship, Johnny becomes obsessed with Darlette and is devastated when she abruptly leaves him to go back to her boyfriend who lives across the street from Johnny. The pain of Darlette's rejection stiffens Johnny's resolve to launch his musical career. He forms his band, Johnny and the Persuaders, an unlikely quartet of misfits drawn from the neighbourhood. Much of the film was shot in Brooklyn and the full list of locations will be posted soon. Alison Moir Alison Moir was born on December 23, 1966 in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. She is an actress, known for A Little Princess (1995), Johnny Suede (1991) and The Last Word (2008). Alison studied at HB STUDIO in NYC from 1989 - 1991 under Michael Beckett. Dated Donald Trump for a short time and was the print model for NEXT agency. |
