Following her appearance in the 2019 Woody Allen romantic comedy “A Rainy Day In New York”, singer and actress Selena Gomez makes a return to acting in the “Only Murders In The Building”. Based in New York, the mystery comedy-drama television series was created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman and was first aired on Hulu in August 2021.

The plot follows three strangers played by Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, with a shared interest in true crime podcasts who team up to investigate a death in the apartment building they all live in. The series has received critical acclaim for its comedic approach to crime fiction, as well as the performances of the lead cast and the chemistry among them.

In the first season, after a suspicious death in their affluent Upper West Side apartment building, the three neighbours start their own podcast about their investigation. In the second season, which premiered in June 2022, the trio themselves become suspects in the bloody murder of another building resident. The series has received numerous accolades, including nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series and for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Martin and Short. In July 2022, the series was renewed for a third season. Although otsoNY is primarily focused on New York-based movies and their filming locations, next month the leading New York film location website will briefly deviate from the big screen to the small screen in a bid to pinpoint some of the New York locations used in “Only Murders In The Building”.

The song was written by Gomez, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, and its producers Mattman & Robin. “Lose You To Love Me” was a pop ballad with empowering lyrics about discovering one’s true self, backed by a choir, piano and strings. Outside of the United States, “Lose You To Love Me” topped the charts in Canada and the Republic of Ireland, and peaked within the top ten of the charts in many countries, including Australia, Belgium, Germany, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
