Brantley Foster (Michael J. Fox), a well-educated kid from Kansas, has always dreamed of making it big in New York, but once in New York, he learns that jobs - and girls - are hard to get. When Brantley visits his uncle, Howard Prescott, who runs a multi-million-dollar company, he is given a job in the company's mail room. Then Brantley meets Christy Wills (Helen Slater), who happens to be one of the top executives. Believing that the best way to win her over is by posing as an executive, Brantley decides to take a position under the name Carlton Whitfield, and soon things get unexpectedly out of hand.

otsoNY Comments: The company Pemrose Corp, in which Brantley worked had several locations that made up its office building. For the entrance and lobby, the building at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 53rd Street was used. The actual office interiors were filmed at the, then headquarters of the International Paper company on the 43rd and 44th floors of the building just south of the Rockefeller Center at 1166 Avenue of the Americas. And finally, the rooftop jogging track scene was shot at 919 3rd Avenue.
