Jason (Adam Scott) and Julie (Jennifer Westfeldt), have been best friends since childhood. They see their best friends getting married and having kids, but struggling, and they wonder whether they can do better by just having a baby without getting further involved romantically. And so they do. After the baby arrives, they continue their separate dating lives, while also being confronted with their friends wondering how this can work.
