The Hungry Ghosts (2009)

Last Updated: Dec 2011

A group of New Yorkers, of different ages, races and backgrounds, hunger for emotional, sensual, and spiritual fulfilment. Their intersecting and colliding paths reflect the zeitgeist of our times, in which the desperation of the West smacks up against the religious teachings of the East.

Diner, 614 9th Avenue and West 44th Street, Manhattan.

otsoNY Comments: Here is an interesting one. We see Frank leave the diner on 9th Avenue and West 44th Street with his take out and within one second we see him arrive at his apartment on 1st Avenue and East 7th Street. Now having looked at the route that he might have taken, walking 28 blocks down 9th Avenue to West 14th Street and then across town to 1st Avenue and down another 6 blocks to 7th Street would on average take a normal fit person around 30 to 40 minutes, but Frank is heavily overweight and I have to wonder if when he finally reached his apartment, he found that his dinner was cold!
