New Year's Eve (2011)
![]() |
New Year's Eve is all about parties, glitz, and a midnight kiss, or could it be about something more? Claire Morgan (Hilary Swank), is the woman in charge of the ball drop in Times Square. Naturally things don't go quite as planned and she's forced to do some serious on-the-spot improvising. Then there's the suddenly rebellious tween daughter Hailey (Abigail Breslin), who runs off to meet her boyfriend in Times Square for a New Year's Eve kiss, with her panicked mom (Sarah Jessica Parker) in hot pursuit. Mousy secretary Ingrid (Michelle Pfeiffer) decides to finally act on her long list of New Year's resolutions and enlists the unlikely help of courier Paul (Zac Efron). An exclusive New Year's Eve party throws together caterer Laura (Katherine Heigl), entertainer Jensen (Jon Bon Jovi), and sous chef Ava (Sofia Vergara). And then there's Sam (Josh Duhamel), a wealthy playboy who just can't seem to resist keeping an unlikely appointment to meet a mystery woman he met by chance last New Year's Eve. |

otsoNY Comments: The 101 Park Avenue building has appeared in several films including Gremlins 2:The New Batch, Entrapment, The Fisher King, The Secret of My Success and Brewster's Millions.

otsoNY Comments: I suspect that this building was only used for exterior shots, but I would like to thank Terry for finding it for OTSONY.

otsoNY Comments: Ingrid and Paul are making their way to the Tiffany's Store on 5th Avenue. This shot shows them riding up 6th Avenue near West 51st Street, but in the next shot they have somehow managed seamlessly transported themselves to 1st Avenue and East 45th Street near the United Nations Building, only to be seen seconds later arriving at the Tiffany's Store on 5th Avenue at the corner of East 57th Street.

otsoNY Comments: Special thanks to Mike from Movie Shots LA.com for this location find.

otsoNY Comments: Again it seems like Paul's satnav system is not working to its full potential, when it has just taken him over the Williamsburg Bridge and moments later is seen riding away from the Manhattan Bridge. Probably would have been easier to travel down the FDR and use the Brooklyn Bridge to cross over from Manhattan to Brooklyn.

otsoNY Comments: Although in this scene the station sign clearly states that it is Myrtle Station that Kim is heading towards, but as she approaches the stairway, you can clearly see Forest Avenue behind her.
