New York Film Locations

That was Twenty Seventeen

20 December 2016

It is time again to close out the year and take a brief look back at what was 2017.

Though there were less updates than in previous years, the 1200th film milestone was reached, and there were still plenty of new films being revisited with additional locations added. Among the list of revisits were “Kate and Leopold”, “Ghostbusters 2”, ““Weekend at Bernie’s”, “The Family Man”, and “Fatal Attraction” which celebrated its 30th anniversary. Another film that celebrated 30 years was the comedy classic “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” starring John Candy and Steve Martin, which was revisited just last month.

There were interviews with film location fans Steve Ames, Dallas King and Bailey Coyne as well as with professional photographers Vivienne Gucwa, Gregoire Alessandrini and Evan Joseph, who kindly allowed otsoNY to include their fantastic photographs of New York City within the Gallery Section. Our resident comic-crazed expert Scott Hopkins helped to determine which of the six Spider-Man films was the best, and in 2018 will help to update the Superheroes of New York section. Other updates next year will include a newly compiled Top 100 of the Greatest New York Films, and a return to Social Media for otsoNY.

As always, special thanks to Bob Egan and Mark Phillips for their continued support with finding those much sought after Missing Locations and to everyone else who has visited otsoNY.com this year.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
