New York Film Locations

The year that was Twenty Fourteen

20 December 2014

As 2014 draws to a close, otsoNY takes a look back at the year and raises a glass of champagne in celebration of 5 years online.

This year saw more News Stories published than any previous year since the News section was launched in 2011. Updates, forthcoming film projects and movie trailers were included as well as announcing who otsoNY is and revisits to a string of films including One Fine Day, Alfie, Rosemary’s Baby, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, Ghost, New York Minute and You’ve Got Mail.

This year otsoNY offered a range of downloadable wallpaper images to brighten up a computer desktop and a sneaky peak into new film projects happening in New York City. It also looked at the famous Monopoly board game, in particular the New York version and compiled a top 100 Greatest 1980’s NYC Films with the top 5 achieves; Do the Right Thing, Scarface, Wall Street and Fatal Attraction, all of which were picked to the post by the 1984 spooky classic, Ghostbusters.

Although parts of 2014 were littered with sadness as we said a heartfelt farewell to the great actors Philip Seymour Hoffman, Harold Ramis and Robin Williams, all of which had at one point in their career appeared in a New York based film, it was the year that otsoNY reached its greatest milestone. In August, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 became the 1000th film to be posted online and included 19 actual real locations.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
