As we prepare for the cinematic moment of the year... Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we take a brief moment to reflect on 2015, and what kind of year it has been for otsoNY.

2015 proved to be yet another busy year for the website with increased readership from around the world providing daily feedback and comments via DISQUS. At the very start of the year, otsoNY announced rumours that the Fantastic Four franchise would be rebooted, and that the third Ghostbusters film would have an-star female cast. It was also announced that Victoria Justice would appear in her own TV drama, Eye Candy. It was this year that Desperately Seeking Susan turned 30 years old and the Marilyn Monroe classic, The Seven Year Itch turned 60 years old.

There were revisits to Gremlins 2, Three Men and a Baby, For Love and Money, One Night Stand, and Vanilla Sky, as well as special profiles on Stefan Bleekrode, who was able to sketch New York City from memory; New Yorker Bob Egan, and his dedication to LP cover locations; Alexandra Charitan, and her incredible New York photographs; Behind the Rabbit Productions, with their passion behind the independent film maker; and we also paused to remember the late John Candy and Brittany Murphy.

In May, another milestone was reached with Like Sunday, Like Rain becoming the 1100th film to be posted, and in the same month, otsoNY travelled to New York City for another photography project which eventually resulted in another 370 images being added to the Picture Gallery section.

We would like to say thank you to everyone for visiting otsoNY this year as well as a special thank you to Bob Egan and Jim Azzara for all of their help in finding the missing film locations, and a big thank you to Cathy Sills at Regal’s Union Square movie theatre, where one of otsoNY’s film location map was put on display.
