This weekend sees the heart wrenching drama Collateral Beauty posted on otsoNY, with early signs pointing to it becoming the second highest ranking film with a staggering 32 actual locations, just 8 below the current leader, Sex and the City, which holds the top spot with 39 actual locations.

Though Collateral Beauty did not receive glowing reviews at the Box Office, with its recent release on DVD and Blu-ray, opinions have changed slightly, and as it is based around the Christmas period will undoubtedly be included in the otsoNY Christmas Top 10 movie list which is due for an update in December. The film grossed $31 million in the United States and Canada and $56.4 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $87.4 million, against a production budget of $36 million. It was released alongside Rogue One and the wide expansion of Manchester by the Sea, and was initially expected to gross $11–13 million from 3,028 theatres in its opening weekend, on par with Smith's 2015 drama Concussion. It made $2.4 million on its first day, lowering weekend projections to $7.5 million. It ended up grossing $7.1 million, finishing 4th at the box office and marking the lowest opening of Will Smith's career.

Collateral Beauty follows Howard, a successful New York advertising executive played by Will Smith, who suffers a great tragedy and retreats from life. While his concerned friends played by Edward Norton, Kate Winslet and Michael Pena try desperately to reconnect with him, he seeks answers from the universe by writing letters to Love, Time and Death. When his notes bring unexpected personal responses, he begins to understand how these constants interlock in a life fully lived and how even the deepest loss can reveal moments of meaning and beauty. The film also stars Naomie Harris, Jacob Latimore, Keira Knightley and Helen Mirren.
