Shades of Blue is an upcoming police procedural, legal, crime drama television series set in New York City that is expected to air on NBC in January 2016.

The show was created by Adi Hasak and stars Jennifer Lopez as the main character Harlee Santos, a single-mother NYPD Detective, who is forced to work in the FBI's anti-corruption task force, while dealing with her own financial problems.

In 2014, the series was ordered straight-to-series without filming a pilot, getting at least 13 episodes. A teaser trailer was made available on June 3, 2015, containing statements by Lopez, Ray Liotta, and Drea de Matteo. On October 28, 2015, NBC announced that the series would premiere on January 14, 2016. On November 9, 2015, it was announced that the premiere was pushed up a week to January 7, 2016.

Filming for Season 1 began in June of this year and with areas of Brooklyn and Queens used for locations.
