Now You See Me Becomes the 900th Film

8 October 2013

The wait is finally over as yet another milestone is reached. The 900th film to be posted on OTSONY is the 2013 thriller, “Now You See Me” starring a host of famous names; Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Mélanie Laurent, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Common, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. Despite the mixed reviews from critics, the film has proved to be a box office success, and a sequel has been officially confirmed.

The film follows four magicians who one by one receive a mysterious summons to an obscure address with secrets inside. A year later, they are the Four Horseman, big time stage illusionists who climax their sold out Las Vegas show with a bank apparently robbed for real. This puts agents Dylan Rhodes played by Mark Ruffalo of the FBI and Alma Vargas of Interpol on the case to find out how they did it. However, this mystery proves difficult to solve even with the insights of the professional illusion exposer, Thaddeus Bradley. What follows is a bizarre investigation where nothing is what it seems with illusions, dark secrets and hidden agendas galore as all involved are reminded of a great truth in this puzzle: the closer you look, the less you see.

Although the majority of the film was shot in New Orleans, there were still several scenes shot in New York City including an apartment building at 92 Orchard Street, Times Square and the Queensboro Bridge.
