Film Projects in Production

7 April 2014

It’s that time again when otsoNY takes a look at the films currently in production within the state of New York.

First up is the drama, Anesthesia starring Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll and Glenn Close, who is of course famous for her bunny-boiling-role in the Fatal Attraction. There isn’t a great deal of information about this film although to say that multiple lives intersect in the aftermath of the violent mugging of a Columbia University philosophy professor.

Another film currently under wraps is The Cobbler starring Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi and Dustin Hoffman, all of which have previously starred in New York based films. Thomas McCarthy is directing this project.

(Jennifer Connelly)

Up next is Shelter starring Jennifer Connelly, who has previously been seen in Dark Water and A Beautiful Mind, and soon to be seen in Winter’s Tale alongside Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe. In this film, Jennifer plays Hannah, a homeless person who falls in love with Tahir played by Anthony Mackie.

(Naomi Watts)

Some projects that are currently post-production include While We’re Young starring Amanda Seyfried, Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts. It is about an uptight documentary filmmaker and his wife who find their lives loosened up a bit after befriending a free-spirited younger couple.

(Morgan Freeman)

Also in post-production is Life Itself, a drama featuring Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton, who play a long-time married couple who have spent their lives together in the same New York apartment and become overwhelmed by personal and real estate-related issues when they plan to move away. Naomi Watts is also starring alongside Bill Murray in St. Vincent De Van Nuys, which is about a young boy whose parents have recently divorced, and who finds an unlikely friend and mentor in the misanthropic, bawdy, hedonistic, war veteran who lives next door.

(Jennifer Aniston)

And finally, Jennifer Aniston will be back on the big screen in 2015 opposite Imogen Poots, Lusy Punch, Kathryn Hahn and fun-man Owen Wilson in the long awaited comedy, Squirrels to the Nuts.

Watch this space for more news about forthcoming New York film projects.
